EWA Opens Registration for 2021 National Seminar
You should definitely attend. It's free, but will give you nothing but networking, training and resources.
There are so many free, professional, virtually-held trainings this year, that you would be crazy not to attend at least one. Here’s another: from the Education Writers’ Association. The EWA is free for student journalists, so joining the organization and attending the conference will take nothing but your time, and give you nothing but networking, training and resources.
COVID-19, viral examples of racism, financial distress and political discord: Reporters covering education amid these crises have never faced more challenges, or been more important to the nation. And despite the recent spread of vaccines, hope for economic recovery, and changes to federal policies, the education and journalism worlds still both face extraordinary difficulties in 2021.
The Education Writers Association’s 74th National Seminar will focus on the theme of “Now What? Reporting on Education Amid Uncertainty.” Four afternoons of conversations, training and presentations will give attendees deeper understanding of these crises, as well as tools, skills and context to help them better serve their communities — and advance their careers.
To be held May 3-5, 2021, the seminar will feature education newsmakers, including leaders, policy makers, researchers, practitioners and journalists. And it will offer practical data and other skills training.
To protect the health of our members, EWA will be holding the event online.
EWA’s National Seminar, the nation’s largest and most influential gathering of education journalists and communicators, is only open to EWA journalist, supporting community and student members who pre-register. If you are not yet an EWA member, and wish to participate in this exclusive opportunity to hear from some of the most important movers and shakers in the education and journalism world, it only takes a few minutes to join EWA. (EWA membership is free for journalists and students).
