Today: Student journalist career webinar

CalMatters’ College Journalism Network will be hosting a panel for student journalists, “Finding Your Path In Journalism,” featuring three California journalists at 3 pm today. Brittny Mejia (LA Times), Ricardo Cano (CalMatters), and Sonali Kohli (LA Times) will talk about their paths to journalism, how they’ve carved out a unique niche, and how to stay true to yourself as a young journalist.

Brittny Mejia is a reporter on the Los Angeles Times’ Metro desk covering breaking news and stories on immigration and race.

Ricardo Cano covers California education for CalMatters. Cano joined CalMatters in September 2018 from The Arizona Republic and azcentral.com, where he spent three years as the education reporter.

Sonali Kohli is a reporter covering education for the Los Angeles Times. She worked as a metro reporter for the Orange County Register and as a reporter covering education and diversity for Quartz before joining The Times in 2015.

The panel will be moderated by College Journalism Network editor Felicia Mello.
